ABOUT US
Entertain Your Left Brain
The mission of the Letters From Us website is to provide social satire and commentary from the perspectives of the left brain and the political center. Our offerings include comics, blogs, headline reviews and other entertaining features. We poke fun at the lives we lead, our politics, our science, our psyches, our humanness.
Why left-brain satire? We aim to attract everyone who enjoys thought-provoking entertainment on the web, and the left brain excels at analytical thinking. It’s also a lot of fun to examine individual elements of life and put them back together to create a different view of the whole.
The view our analysis shows us most often is the center. So, extreme positions aren’t advocated on our pages. There are plenty of websites that offer polarizing views as entertainment. Comics to the left of us. Blogs to the right. They are easily found with just a few keystrokes in an Internet search.
To those who believe that centrism is unprincipled, middle of the road accommodation, we disagree. Our system of government is one of multiple branches, created to guarantee the checks and balances necessary to keep us on the straight and narrow. The same is true of centrist policies and principles. So, we advocate them.
This does not mean that we take no positions and only criticize those of others. Because there’s more to social satire than just poking fun, we suggest solutions, too. But, our site does not support the views of a particular political party. In advocating positions, we try not to disparage individuals personally, although, sometimes, it just can’t be helped.
Welcome to our site. We hope you enjoy it and visit us often!
For Sidney, intellect is life
![]()
She is the picture of a left-brained analyst. Studious, she keeps up with the latest developments in many different human disciplines. She conducts experiments in her research lab and sometimes uses Riley as her test subject, but he is never harmed. And humans are not allowed inside. Sidney also enjoys literature, philosophy and psychology. It gives her a unique insight into what being human is all about. One of her favorite pursuits is reading the daily newspapers. When she signs off on her blogs, it’s always with “See you on the left-side”. She means of your brain. It’s a place where your analysis of issues may meet hers. If not, you can always chat with her about it.
For Riley, Riley is life
![]()
Like Sidney, Riley has a study. Unlike Sidney, who uses hers to learn and to analyze, Riley uses his to study Riley. He also sits in front of his full-length mirror, pondering ways to attract millions of adoring human fans. But, with Sidney’s urging, Riley ventures out of his friendly confines to consider other things with her. He is knowledgeable of certain aspects of human existence, of course, but most of his reactions are based on his instinct. Those instincts usually place him at the heart of the matter where his insight helps to crystallize his sister’s thinking. When Riley signs off on his blogs, it’s with “See you in the mirror.” That’s where he typically finds himself and he’s sure you do the same, too.
Letters From Us® Web Comics
Letters From Us® is a web-based comic strip created and published by Endgame Enterprises, LLC®. Letters pokes good-natured fun at the cultural topics of the day through the eyes of two distinctly different dogs with very human personalities.
Sidney, the female, seeks to advance human knowledge through intellectual pursuits. Her favorite places are her study and her lab, although she’s seen most often reading about current events. She’s able to cut to the chase and nail most human issues for what they really are. Sidney is mild-mannered and outwardly directed and is never seen without her trademark glasses.
Riley, Sidney’s male littermate, is very different in his outlook. In his world, there is Riley and not a lot else. He thinks of other things only when enticed by his sister. And, when he does, he measures most everything by his own standard of inwardly directed excellence. His favorite possession is his full-length mirror. Riley is seen most often gazing at photos of himself in his family album.
The comics fall into several categories but politics is, by far, the favorite. Together, Sidney and Riley offer a view of the human world unique among web comics.
Blogs From Us
Our blogs are always on current topics of the day, and they fall into the same categories as our comics, with politics dominating. They are written from a dog’s point of view, if the dog were mostly human. Actually, they represent the views of two different dogs. Sidney’s blogs have an intellectual slant. Riley’s are usually much more freewheeling.
They don’t necessarily differ in their opinions, but the characters express themselves in distinctly different ways.
